Curriculum Vitae


Once upon a time, Sailik was born in the city of Kolkata. Over the years, he has developed a taste for life-long learning, thinking, coding, reading, clicking pictures, eating lots of food and listening to a wide variey of music.

At present, he is a Ph.D. student at the Arizona State University and works with Dr. Subbarao Kambhampati. His research interests lie in developing game-theoretic models for cybersecurity and devising methods to secure machine learning models. He also has experience in developing autonomous decision-support assistants for human-in-the-loop planning scenarios (result of being in the Yochan Lab) and has worked on goal-directed conversations and natural language generation (a side-effect of interning with the AWS Lex team). In 2018, he was awarded the prestigious IBM Ph.D Fellowship for his work.

He likes to talk (a lot) and spends a lot of time doing so, oftentimes, on random topics completely unrelated to his research. He is self-critical about his shortcomings and feels correcting them will help him become a better person.

The pronunciation of his name in his native language, Bengali, is Sho-e-lik. It means the aesthetic quality of any work.
